Separate Ratio-product Estimator for Estimating Population Mean Using Auxiliary Information
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper introduces an estimator of population mean Y of the study variable y using auxiliary variable x in stratified random sampling. The bias and variance of the proposed estimator have been derived under large sample approximation. Asymptotic optimum estimator (AOE) is identified with its approximate variance formula. Estimator based on “estimated optimum values” is also investigated. An empirical study is carried out to demonstrate the performance of the suggested estimator over others.

Modified Sampling Strategies Using Correlation Coefficient for Estimating Population Mean
This paper proposes two sampling strategies based on the modified ratio estimator using the population mean of auxiliary variable and population correlation coefficient between the study variable and the auxiliary variable by Singh and Tailor (2003) for estimating the population mean (total) of the study variable in a finite population. A comparative study is made with usual sampling strategies...
متن کاملA Study on the Class of Chain Ratio–type Estimators
This paper considers the problem of estimating the population mean Ybar of the study variate Y using information on different parameters such as population mean $(bar{X})$, coefficient of variation $(C_x)$, kurtosis $beta_{2(x)}$, standard deviation $(S_x)$ of the auxiliary variate x and on the correlation coefficient, $rho$, between the study variate $Y$ and the auxiliary variate $...
متن کاملOn Presentation a new Estimator for Estimating of Population Mean in the Presence of Measurement error and non-Response
Introduction According to the classic sampling theory, errors that are mainly considered in the estimations are sampling errors. However, most non-sampling errors are more effective than sampling errors in properties of estimators. This has been confirmed by researchers over the past two decades, especially in relation to non-response errors that are one of the most fundamental non-immolation...
متن کاملEstimation of the Finite Population Mean in Two Phase Sampling When Auxiliary Variables Are Attributes
We consider the problem of estimating the finite population mean in two phase sampling when some information on auxiliary attributes is available. It is shown that the proposed estimator is more efficient than the usual mean estimator, the S. Bahl and R.K. Tuteja (Ratio and product type exponential estimators, Information and Optimization Sciences 12 (1), 159–163, 1991) estimator and a family o...
متن کاملRatio-Product Type Exponential Estimator For Estimating Finite Population Mean Using Information On Auxiliary Attribute
In practice, the information regarding the population proportion possessing certain attribute is easily available see Jhajj et.al. (2006). For estimating the population mean Y of the study variable y, following Bahl and Tuteja (1991), a ratio-product type exponential estimator has been proposed by using the known information of population proportion possessing an attribute (highly correlated wi...
